Allan was a very special person in my life since I was 5 years old. He taught me to swim, which was a major achievement! I was not the most courageous pupil in the water!! Allan and Mildred were close family friends of my parents, Frank and Pat. We spent many happy times together: lots of fun and parties.
Allan came to visit my husband Harry and me in NZ. We so enjoyed his stay. He was always adventurous and full of fun.
A very special man who will be sorely missed. Sally and Harry Leventis

Allan and my father, Frank Stoneman, did not only work together but were very good friends. Allan was Godfather to my brother, Mark, and taught my sister, Sally, to swim so he has figured greatly in my family's life. After my father died he was a great support to my mother and to myself - always ready with advice or to help in any way he could.
At his 90th birthday celebrations, I found out just how many things he had done in his life. His Christmas letters were always looked forward to and I was amazed at how much he achieved every year. He certainly lived life to the full. He was a wonderful man in every way and I am so glad that I knew him. Anne Mills-Davies
